I was doing a lot of character art surrounding anteaters last year and made this little character. For this painting, I got the idea of him eating (slurping?) an ant slushie. The idea behind the background is that he is hanging out at his family’s reunion during the summer, which is inspired by my own family’s reunions (especially the random unsupervised 5-year-old walking around the playground). In this anthropormphic world, I figured it would be fun to explore how the cultures of different species could be represented, so I used the ant snack just to dip into the idea.
